Boomsday is an annual celebration that takes place on Labor Day weekend in Knoxville, TN. This event features one of the biggest fireworks displays in the entire Southern United States. The event is held on the waterfront of Volunteer Landing and attracts a crowd of more than 325,000 spectators. The fireworks are choreographed to music which can be heard on a local radio station and also over speakers set up for the event.

The Star of Knoxville is an authentic Paddle Wheeler operated by the Tennessee Riverboat Company. The Star can hold up to 325 passengers and the main deck seats 144 people. The main deck is enclosed so that temperatures can be kept comfortable year round. The Star of Knoxville offers dinner cruises as well as specialty cruises and can be rented out for special events such as weddings, football parties, and more.

Knoxville, TN — The Volunteer Navy, often referred to as Vol Navy, was started in 1962 by an announcer named George Mooney. George was looking for a way to avoid all of the game day traffic so he began taking is boat and tying it to a tree on the river front and had to climb rocks and over a hill to reach the stadium.
